Community Psychiatric Nurse Assessment and Treatment Service

Meditemp have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse to join the Assessment and Treatment Service team in Littlehampton, Sussex! 

 

The assessment and treatment services are the entry point into specialist mental health services for adults over the age of 18 years old. You will be expected to look at each referral and decide whether an assessment is required. If it is not, you will signpost to another service that can give them the support they need. If assessment is required you will do this with them and work alongside the patient to identify the right care and support for them. This may be a specific therapy or longer-term care where a lead practitioner will support them through their recovery journey.

 

The working hours for this placement are Monday - Friday 9-5.  There can be some assessment work that is offered on Saturdays but core hours are 9-5 week days.

 

The team would prefer all work is done face to face, however training and paperwork can be agreed as home working.

 

The Client requires you to have:

  • Experience working in a similar community team
  • Experience of working alongside people with complex health problems in the designated care group
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of managing a caseload
  • Experience of providing a range of clinical interventions to people in the designated care group with a variety of health problems
  • Experience of working consultatively with professionals
  • Experience of conducting clinical assessments including risk assessments

 

Meditemp requires you to have:

  • A minimum of 6 months recent experience as a hospital based registered mental health nurse with advanced experience in working within a Community role
  • NMC registration
  • Occupational Health in line with the dept. of health
  • Eligibility to work within the UK
  • Physical Restraint training
