Deputy Manager – Solo Placement Children’s Home
Location: Herne Bay, Kent
Salary: £38,000 per annum

Spring Care Group Ltd is seeking a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to support the running of our solo placement children’s home in Herne Bay, Kent. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a young person with complex needs.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides high-quality care, stability, and positive outcomes. You will support in managing the day-to-day operations, lead and supervise staff, and help create a safe and nurturing environment where the young person can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Manager with the effective daily operation of the home.
• Lead, supervise, and support the care team to deliver excellent standards of care.
• Ensure the home operates in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of the young person.
• Support the development and implementation of individualised care plans.
• Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice.

Requirements

• Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to enrol).
• Experience working in a children’s residential care setting.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• A caring, resilient, and child-centred approach.
