Area Operations Manager

We are currently recruiting a competent Area Operations Manager to work from our Head Office, supporting and guiding the Home managers, and ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day business function in your region.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Operations, and ideally have experience in the care industry, in particular semi-independent services. You will be passionate about helping young people achieve outcomes and be committed to delivering a high-quality service.

The candidate will be the face of the organisation for anything significant that comes through from Local authorities.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • To offer support, develop and identify what training is required for the service managers / deputy managers CPD and with managing and maintaining staff, providing adequate support to young people and any other issues or queries that may arise, including regular meetings with them, holding monthly supervisions and bi-monthly team meetings. Ensuring there is a good working relationship between the service managers and their support staff and between the staff at he services and Head Office staff.
  • To deal with managers / deputy managers and key staff who are under performing or lack the abilities for the role that they are responsible, this will include holding Performance management meetings with an action plan to follow and then disciplinary actions if no improvements are made.
  • To oversee the recruitment process for all job roles within the organisation and that all the required paperwork (DBS, References, ID, Qualifications, and Trainings etc) is in place and no corners have been cut.
  • Market our services to the Local authorities to increase demands for our services and present to the directors where you feel there is an opportunity within Health and Social care that we should consider looking into.
  • To handle any complaints, queries or requests for information that come through to Local authorities (incl. LADO) until the matter has been closed. All compliments and complaint that the organisation receives, must be recorded in our Occupancy & Referrals Stats (excel).
  • To lead and be present for QA inspections by Local authorities at any of our units or stand-alone flats and to ensure that we score very well and follow up on any action points given. This will also include completing any paperwork that we get sent prior or after the QA visit.
  • To oversee Head office departments (HR, Maintenance and referrals) and support the head office team
