Salary: £38,340 – £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join a beautifully refurbished five-bed children’s home in Leatherhead. The home provides high-quality care for children aged 8–17 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD), offering a safe, nurturing, and family-style environment where every child can grow and thrive.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a forward-thinking team and contribute to a service that embraces a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach to care.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in leading a skilled, compassionate team to deliver outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people. You will take an active role in the daily running of the home, ensuring that the environment remains safe, stable, and nurturing.

Your leadership will help to model positive relationships, consistency, and empathy — values that are at the heart of everything we do. You will also play a key role in developing the team, embedding reflective practice, and ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the operational management of the home.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a dedicated team to deliver exceptional care.
  • Ensure the home meets all regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
  • Contribute to care planning, behaviour management, and placement reviews.
  • Promote a culture of reflection, learning, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • Participate in on-call duties as part of the management team.

About You:

  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Working towards or hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
  • Previous experience in a senior or deputy role within a children’s residential setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care.
  • A confident leader who models empathy, consistency, and professional integrity.
  • Committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary of £38,340 – £40,000 per annum (experience dependent).
  • A beautifully refurbished, high-quality home environment.
  • Comprehensive induction and continuous professional development.
  • Reflective supervision and clinical support to promote staff wellbeing.
  • Genuine career progression within a supportive, growing organisation.
  • A culture that celebrates teamwork, compassion, and excellence in care.

If you are an experienced children’s home professional looking to take the next step in your career and want to make a genuine difference in children’s lives, we would love to hear from you.
